and this is how we do it ….

We give all our dogs a thorough health check before they are introduced to the water. Once we have established that the dog is okay to go in the pool, we give them a warm shower. This not only cleans the coat of debris, it also allows the therapist to warm up cold muscles and give a little pre-exercise massage.

Once in the pool, things proceed at your dogs pace. Sometimes it takes a few sessions before the patient relaxes, whilst for others it’s an instant hit! Whatever the reaction, the  hydrotherapist will work in sympathy with your dog and it’s medical condition, and will keep you fully informed about progress.

Back on dry land, we shower your dog again in order to remove any trace of sanitizer, and to further massage muscles as they return to rest. We can either use an electric dryer to dry the coat, or if preferred a good rub down with towels.

Each session is recorded in detail, and in the case of medical re-habilitation, a regular up-date is sent to your dogs veterinary surgeon.

We always have time for that little bit extra …
